The Story of Nardia's House
In January of 2019 my wife Nardia was diagnosed with stomach cancer. For the next year she was in and out of hospitals, and I was responsible with the help of loved ones for her care at home.
During this process, the one thing we kept running into was the quality of care or the lack there of she would receive at the various treatment facilities.
This is what drew me to this industry, to provide a facility(s) where everyone can maintain their dignity and receive the quality of care they deserve.
To honor my wife, and to create a long lasting legacy, we agreed to name our assisted living after her, Nardia’s House.
Nardia : embodied the word "caring" she throughly cared for her husband , son and anyone she met she was the go to person when anyone needed a caring ear, she was always there to help shoulder whatever burden they were carrying or facing at that time she was there

Hello my name is Jenn Copponi! I will be the Delegating/Registered Nurse working here at Nardia’s house. I’ve been a nurse for 9 years. I started my nursing career at Johns Hopkins Main Campus in the BRU (Brain Rescue Unit)/IMC. I specialized in everything from strokes to patient recoveries from neurosurgeries to helping patients manage newly-diagnosed neurological diseases as well as flare-ups. While there, I obtained my CNRN (Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse) certification as well as served as a Diabetes Liaison for my unit. My interest in nursing stemmed from my childhood and spending a lot of time in and out of University of Maryland and Kernan due to my father being extremely sick. He was a Type I Diabetic, diagnosed at age 10, as well as a fighter of throat and lung cancer. I have personal experience with tracheostomies, amputations, blindness, multiple organ transplants and, finally, hospice. My diabetes knowledge then grew as an adult when my daughter, now almost 20, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 6 in 2009. Currently I work full time as a Case Manager and Delegating Nurse to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am passionate about being an advocate for those who cannot be their own. I’m married to my husband Johnny and have two children (ages 22 and almost 20) and one stepson who is 13. I am an avid runner and have recently completed my first marathon! Olive is my canine companion and running buddy who may pay some visits to the homes. I’m excited to be able to work with such a wonderful AL alongside some fantastic people that I consider friends. Welcome!
Karen Walk os a registered nurse for 15 years with a Masters in Healthcare Administration certified in Healthcare leadership from Harvard University . Karen will be serving as ALM
